From bankruptcy and suspension to a thriving coastal community.
Before Harmony.
When Harmony acquired Soquel Gardens, the park was in crisis. Its permit to operate had been suspended for three years, the prior ownership was in bankruptcy, and only eight residents remained in a community built for many more.
Years of deferred maintenance touched nearly every corner of the property. Roadways were worn, homes were aging, and the entrance had all but disappeared behind overgrown weeds.
Harmony moved fast. Within 45 days of acquisition, the permit to operate was fully restored, and a nearly $500,000 capital program began: 20 spaces restored, roadways resurfaced, fencing and signage renewed, and homes rehabilitated to safe, modern standards.
Today, Soquel Gardens is home to nearly 80 residents, ten times the tenancy Harmony inherited. It is now a stabilized, compliant community delivering much-needed housing on California's Central Coast.
