Bruce Davies

Bruce Davies was born in New Mexico and was raised in Livermore CA. He attended Washington State University and holds a BS in Hotel and Restaurant Management, with a minor in Business Administration.

After graduating college Bruce moved to Stockton, California where he became a Real Estate Salesman in 1974. In 1978 he became a Real Estate Broker and owner, which continues to this day.

Bruce and his wife, Elizabeth, purchased their first single family rental in 1971 and did not look back until they had a portfolio of over 40 rental homes. The couple managed, maintained and repaired each of the homes while working in their respective careers and raising a family.

Bruce’s real estate endeavors did not stop there; he took a spin in real estate development and was instantly hooked. In 1982 Bruce developed Edgewater Court in Stockton, CA. He oversaw the project from raw land through the final map and an eventual sale to a builder. After that he worked with numerous other developers on multiple projects, continuing to this day.

In 2003 Bruce and his son, Matthew, decided to take a detour from single family homes and make the move into manufactured housing communities. They share a passion for affordable housing and proudly manage over 20 manufactured housing communities in California and Oregon.

Today Bruce continues to run his real estate brokerage with his partner, and also plays an active role in the managerial duties of Harmony Communities. He enjoys traveling with his wife and spending time with his granddaughters.

Sherrie Johnston

Sherrie Johnston attended California State University Sacramento where she initially went to school to become a nurse. While she always knew she wanted to help people, she quickly realized that the help she could provide would not come from an operating room. In 2010, Sherrie instead took a job at a real estate brokerage and fell in love with it.

In 2013 Sherrie got her Real Estate Salesperson license and decided to go back to school, this time on a new track. She graduated with a BS in business administration with a concentration in small business management.

Sherrie joined the Harmony team in 2013. She enjoys the group atmosphere, creating new processes, and being involved in activities that contribute to the smooth operation and forward momentum of Harmony Communities.

Sherrie’s spare time consists of adventures, travel and good food with her husband, Eric, and serious snuggle time with her dog, Special Agent Gibbs.

Matthew Davies

Leveraging his background as a property manager, Matthew Davies is trying to solve one of the most pressing issues of our time: lack of affordable housing. Through Harmony Communities, a business he started working for 15 years ago he is poised to make a big impact.

Born and raised in California and always an entrepreneur, Matthew’s earliest memories are of watching his father manage rental properties. Later he helped to run and grow the family business.

Hard work and 80-hour weeks characterized Matthew’s early career. During this time he developed a knack for prescience: seeing, understanding, and building successful companies based on emerging market trends. His first venture, an online retail establishment founded in 2002, grew fast, ending in a successful exit in 2010. His second venture grew equally fast.

However, for Matthew, the son of a successful real estate broker and developer, returning to his roots made sense, and today he is focused on scaling Harmony Communities. Taking the many lessons he learned from prior ventures, Matthew is working to find solutions to the housing crisis in California and other states.

Affordable housing is an issue close to his heart. Matthew feels pride and tremendous satisfaction in helping families secure homes; families who otherwise might never realize the dream of homeownership.

Today Harmony Communities manages over 20 properties, close to 2,000 units, across California and Oregon, employs more than 50 people, and has almost $100 million dollars in assets under management.

In the future, Harmony Communities will continue to expand into new locations. Along the way, the company will continue to roll out innovative strategies like its tiny house conversion program that replaces dated modular homes in communities with new, energy-efficient, tiny homes.

  • At Harmony Communities, we feel strongly that each resident has a sense of home. That they come home from work and feel pride in their environment and in their place in the greater community. That families are comfortable raising children in our neighborhoods, and that couples and individuals know that they belong to something bigger than their four walls. In other words, we seek to create harmony within each community, making our communities not just passable, but peaceful, safe, functional, and beautiful.

  • Every person who wants to be a homeowner should have the opportunity to own a home. At Harmony Communities, we're providing people with that opportunity.

  • Everyone deserves a safe and affordable place to call home.

  • Mobile home parks are one of the largest forms of unsubsidized affordable housing; they help states meet the substantial and growing need for housing.

  • Keeping housing expenses reasonable - and homes attainable - this is core to our mission.

  • Our goal remains the same: to offer great value in a great environment for all residents.

  • We aim for Harmony Communities to be clean and neat, to have local ownership and governance through homeowner's associations, and to make obvious to any onlooker that we care about our community, that people are watching, and that crime is not welcome.

  • When we create purposeful communities around high quality, affordable homes, we step in with the intention of establishing an atmosphere of care and respect for the property, and by extension, the people and families who live there.
